I wish I could count the number of hours I have spent on the water in my lifetime. From many years as a competitive rower to working as a SCUBA diver, water has been a mainstay in my outdoor life. This mug design captures a bright day on a tossing turquoise-green sea, featuring a large sun setting into a cresting wave.
It's multi-layered glazes feature bars of different color and texture - from a turquoise-y green matte glaze for the rough ocean with strips of frothy white for the waves to a band of steely blue grey of a misty ocean sky. It is reminiscent of a far-off horizon on a rough ocean day. Full of texture and life, made for hot days and cool nights in the great outdoors.
